OUR BEGINNINGS
WTL-The Way, Truth, and Life Outreach is a non-profit organization founded by Janet Lemelle, RN, MSN-FNP, MCC. WTL-Outreach began in 2004 as a grassroots effort to offer support and hope to pregnant teens in Waller, Texas. Lemelle initially offered modest resources to pregnant teens; however due to fast growth, Lemelle and her husband Allen opened their home to accommodate countless teens and young adults in need of WTL-Outreach’s services. Initially, WTL-Outreach assisted them with accessing health care and providing health education during pregnancy. From there, WTL’s focus evolved into helping them develop healthy relationships, teaching abstinence and upholding the sanctity of marriage based on Christian principles.
In 2008, as the community began to partner on behalf of young moms, dads and babies, the Waller Pregnancy Care Center was formed as a branch of WTL-Outreach. In 2010, the Waller Pregnancy Care Center moved from the home residence into the business district. Currently, the outreach center is providing hope to women and men facing an unplanned pregnancy and educating and empowering countless young families throughout Waller and the surrounding counties.
